After a long dispute between the Government of China and Google Inc. about Google’s services in China, it is yet to be decided whether Google will be able to start its services in China or it will suspend its services there. Meanwhile it was creating problem for Motorola smartphones to get sold in the market of China. The economy of China is strong and the market size is huge as it is one of the world’s most populated countries. Therefore Motorola did not want to leave that market just because it has a deal with Google.
Despite of its recent announcement about staying loyal to the Google Android Operating System for this year, Motorola has decided to use Microsoft’s Bing search engine and maps for the phones that are installed with Google’s Android Operating Systems.
According to Motorola Inc. there aim is to capture the largest market share in the smartphone industry in future and if such issues remain in the pipeline it would be a problem for them to achieve that aim. Therefore, Motorola had to take this step. The cell phones will continue to use Google Android and there are no such possibilities in the near future that Motorola will shift to Microsoft OS.
Motorola has made a significant ground in the smartphone industry and in the past few months it has achieved some of its milestones. The popularity of Motorola smart phones could be viewed by looking up to its share value which increased to 14% in the New York Stock Exchange and 17% in the Nasdaq Stock market.
It is reported that Bing will be preloaded in the Motorola Android handsets in China and when the dispute between Google and Government of China resolves Motorola Droid phones will again use Google search engine and maps. But Google fears that if Motorola experiences similar or better services from Bing it can cause some problems for Google.
