Online banking and managing your bank account through mobile phones internet and text massages has become a trend. But a new mobile application will soon come in to the market which will allow you to deposit checks through your mobile phone. The Bank of America has recently announced an application through which the consumers will be able to deposit their checks through mobile phones. The consumer will take pictures of the check and send it to the bank and the bank will deposit their check using remote deposit capture technology.

Before coming up with such a technology and planning to introduce such application a survey was conducted to see whether the consumers will like it or not and the results were surprising even for the surveyors. A huge number of consumers were willing to avail such services. This application will not only be beneficial for the consumers but also for the banks and the financial institutions. It will be beneficial for the consumers as they won’t have to visit the branch and can deposit their checks with great ease whereas the banks won’t need a wide branch network and they can control their cost with that.

Security concerns still remain a big issue. Consumers who are looking to get benefits out of this new technology have concerns about fraud and privacy of financial data. The banks and the technology companies say that they have largely overcome these concerns and will provide these services with the best security. Even though consumers have shown favorable attitude towards this mobile phone application but the actual result will only be revealed once the application is out for customer use.
