AT&T is the second largest wireless service provider in United States with a customer base of more than 90 million. It has achieved some extra ordinary milestones since its establishment in 1983. A recent achievement made my AT&T is the eco-friendly charger. The need of eco-friendly technology was realized by the world and AT&T has taken a step towards it. It has come up with a green technology charger called the “ZERO charger”.

You do not know how much time your mobile phone will take to get charged. You just put it on charge and go away. When the mobile phone gets fully charged and it is still connected to the charger the charger keeps on drawing electricity which is being wasted totally. Sometimes you just plug the charger and forget to switch off the button. The charger keeps on consuming the electricity. Do you know how much electricity is being wasted due to this? According to an estimate the energy wasted by this act can fulfill the electricity requirement of almost 24,000 homes for a whole year.

The new ZERO charger by AT&T is installed with a sensor that automatically stops consuming electricity when the mobile phone device is fully charged. It also does not consume any electricity if it is plugged in but the mobile phone is not connected to it. AT&T has come up with this cell phone charger to show its inclination towards environmental friendliness. The ZERO charger has a mobile USB slot which helps to charge other cell phones in the market as well. All the other cell phone manufacturers announced to come up with universal chargers but no one has shown any progress in this concern. AT&T has taken a bold step and has announced that its ZERO charger for cell phone will be compatible to most of the cell phones in the market. Other than saving the electricity, this cell phone charger by AT&T is completely recyclable and its packaging will also be done with 100 percent recycled paper. The production of this charger will reduce the 60 percent of paper and 30 percent of plastic previously used by AT&T to manufacture chargers. This eco-friendly charger will be available in market in May this year.
