The patent on mobile social networking was awarded to “Winksite” last year in October and this mobile application technology dates back to 2004. The Winksite lawyers claim that facebook and Google were aware of this patent but they did not consider it important and came up with similar mobile social networking applications.

According to recent reports Winksite also known as Wireless Ink is looking forward to draw a huge amount from both the giants. The amount for the patent infringement has not yet been disclosed.

Some people say that this law suit will affect the brand image of Facebook and Google and it is a great example of negligence at their part as social networking is the key of their business plans. While others say that this lawsuit will harm Facebook and Google only in terms of finance as both will pay a fine. Other than that both will keep on operating the services and will keep on growing with the same pace because people do not care about who wins the patent infringement they are just interested in using the mobile social networking service.
