There is a tough competition between Apple OS, Google Android and Microsoft Windows Phone operating system. All these three major operating systems of cell phones have been involved in attracting more and more mobile phone manufacturers to use their operating system in the cell phones. Recent reports from the mobile phone market show that Motorola one of the top mobile phone brands has reaffirmed its commitment to the Android operating system for the year 2010 and HTC the largest cell phone brand of Taiwan has showed its commitment to the Microsoft Windows Phone for this year.

Not to forget that Motorola was once a loyal customer to Microsoft Windows Phone but it switched to Google’s Android operating system as the Android OS was getting more popular among the users. After the launch of Microsoft Windows 7 series it was rumored that Motorola will again make a shift to Windows Mobile OS but it was made clear by Motorola that it will continue to come up with more cell phones using Android OS. However, the experts at Motorola did not neglect the possibility of using MS Windows OS in their cell phones in future.

On the other hand HTC has showed its commitment to the Microsoft Windows 7 series. HTC is also a customer of Google Android but it has launched a cell phone using MS Windows OS and reports show that they are planning to launch some more cell phone models using the same MS Windows OS.

The competition between the operating system developers is getting tougher day by day as the mobile phone manufacturers have shown that they will make a shift to that operating system which is more popular in the market and which possesses more potential to attract customers. Therefore, only that operating system will be able to capture the largest market share which manages to provide great features with a touch of user friendliness in it. It would be quite interesting to see the competition between the OS developers as they will come up with new technologies to capture the market share.
