Puma has announced to launch its first mobile phone in October last year after signing an agreement with Segam. It has launched a teaser website which did not explain much about the puma mobile phone.All it showed was a countdown on the mobile phone launch. There were a lot of rumors about this cell phone as the puma mobile phone project was been kept a secret so that the curiousness among the people will boost up. This cell phone has now been launched and is available in the U.S market.
This mobile phone measures 102mm tall, 56mm wide and 13mm deep and it weighs 155 grams. It has a rear facing 3.2-megapixel camera with a LED flash to help you navigate tough lighting conditions. Obviously the main focus of the Puma phone is sports and there are plenty of features to help you in this regard. The Puma phone features an analogue stopwatch as well as a GPS run tracker, GPS bike speedometer and a pedometer. With pedometer you can measure your steps everyday and if you are a seafaring type there is a built in yachting compass. One great feature of Puma mobile phone is that it has an integrated solar panel, which makes it a green and eco-friendly mobile phone.
Segam Puma provides WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML for internet browsing and it has 3G Networks HSDPA 900 / 2100. The music player has a runtime of 24 hours continuously with MP3/WMA/eAAC+ player, MP4/H.263/H.264 player and stereo FM radio with RDS. Apart from other features that are related to sports, Segam Puma has one built-in sports news application which not only makes it attractive for the sports persons but also for the people who are interested in scores and latest news about sports. Moreover, it has a 35 hours standby time and up to 5 hours of talk time. So far the cell phone is doing good in the U.S market and has created an environmentally sustainable value. However, the success of this mobile phone can only be measured when it will be launched in other parts of the world (scheduled to be in April).
