Nokia reorganizing smartphone and cell phone business teams
According to a latest report Nokia one the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world has announced to carry out a reorganization of its smartphone and cell phone business teams. Nokia has decided to do so because it thinks it is still struggling in the smartphone industry and if they do not take certain steps right now it will get much more difficult for them to handle the situation in future and capture the largest market share.
The head of Nokia mobile phone unit Rick Simonson has also decided to leave the job. It is reported that he is leaving the job because he wants to reduce his travel trips and spend more time with his family. Referring to Mr. Simonson, Mr. Strand said: “I also find it hard to believe that one wouldn’t have anticipated the travel involved in such a job before taking it.”
Rick Simonson leaving the job to spend more time with his children is really something which one cannot believe. What do you think? Could there be any link between the reorganization of Nokia and Rick Simonson’s resign from the job?
The reorganization of Nokia will start from July 1st and it will separate the hardware division and the marketing division. More focus of this reorganization is said to be on smartphone team and the cell phone business team. Why more focus is on smartphone team because iPhone, Motorola, Microsoft, Samsung all are coming up with exciting smartphone models and all have reduced the market share of Nokia in the smartphone industry. Nokia wants to outperform all other cell phones in the smartphone industry and that is why it has decided to do so. It will be really interesting to see whether Nokia smartphone team can come up with some hot smartphone models or not.
