It all started from the mobile phone network companies in Pakistan as they wanted to take competitive advantage over one another. They started offering exciting SMS packages at really low costs and now chatting with friends and family through text messages is the favorite time pass and hobby of the Pakistani youth. Most of them can type a message with closed eyes because they know which key is where and the whole menu of their mobile phone is inscribed in their mind.
The next thing which the Pakistani youth do is that they use the SMS service while driving a car and while riding a motor bike. Their eyes are on the road but you will find their hands busy in writing text message. You will also find them writing text messages while sitting in the class rooms taking lectures and during parties and get together. All the time the Pakistani youth will keep on doing SMS. Even if they have sufficient balance to make a call they will send an SMS. And sometimes if you call them they will cancel your call and ask you through SMS that why were you calling.
Well the relation between Pakistani youth and the SMS services is getting stronger day by day. They are obsessed with it because it enables them to stay in touch with their friends, family and of course their “loved ones”. For them it is the best mode of communication. The youth loves SMS bundle packages but the parents feel a bit annoyed, and rightly so. They say that the youth wastes a lot of time sending and receiving SMS and they cannot concentrate properly on anything. Moreover, they are of a view that excess of everything is bad. What do you think? Are these SMS bundle packages useful for the youth or are they distracting them?
