Microsoft Pink to be launched at “It’s time to share”?
On Monday 5th 2010 Microsoft invited the media to attend the event in San Francisco with the slogan “It’s time to share”. The event will be held on April 12th of this month. However the spokesperson of Microsoft denied to give any further comments but experts in the cell phone market say that Microsoft will launch its Microsoft smartphone platform with the code-name “Pink”.
There are also some rumors that Microsoft will announce a new line of mobile phones which will be much more supportive to the social-networking. This new product line of Microsoft mobile phones will purely aim at attracting the young consumers as they are the one who make use of the social media networking the most. These rumors from the market give a clear idea that Microsoft is making its move from the software industry to hardware industry as well. It is also expected by some that Microsoft will launch the two new mobile phones called the “Pure” and the “Turtle”.
Microsoft has designed the software, online services, applications and hardware for the Pink mobile phones and they will be installed with the latest Windows OS 7. Sharp Corp. one of the finest manufacturers in Japan is manufacturing this device. Microsoft is struggling really hard in the cell phone industry. Experts say that it is important for Microsoft to come up with some great cell phone projects because the competition is getting really tough. First Apple entered into the cell phone industry by coming up with iPhone and then Google earlier this year came up with Google Nexus one smartphone. If Microsoft does not show urgency in coming up with some great cell phones it will stay behind in this race as already the number of devices which use Microsoft’s OS have slipped down to almost 20 percent.
Microsoft has done partnership with Verizon Communication Inc. and Vodafone Group PLC for its Pink project. Let us wait till 12th April and see if it is Microsoft’s Pink or something different on “It’s time to share”.
